Newen Network: the new European formats exchange network

Launched by NEWEN, a French leading audiovisual group, in May 2011 with the signature of its partnership with Globomedia, Newen Network now counts four members since April 2012 with the signing of two new partnerships with TévéMedia Group, one of the major independent TV groups in Holland and in Belgium, and with Bavaria Film, one of the leaders in TV production in Germany.

The network offers each of its partners’ privileged access to the best non scripted and scripted TV formats. Conceived as an open network, it aims to bring together more large independent talented TV producers.

For each of its members, Newen Network represents an attractive opportunity for local and international growth, both in the areas of entertainment and fiction.

It enables them to sell their formats outside their own borders, all the while acquiring the best programs for their national market. It will also make coproduction projects happen.

In the extremely competitive international market of TV content, Newen Network makes it possible for its members to always better answer the requests of broadcasters in their local territories in terms of successful programs.

Newen Network at MIPCOM 2016

As has now become the custom, the members of Newen Network and their development & sales teams held their annual meeting in Cannes last week, the day before the start of MIPCOM. They were all able to pitch before the official MIP opening their newest formats aimed at conquering the international formats market and learn more about what to expect from the international format scene. Amongst the formats presented, «All for a cottage», a home renovation reality competition imagined by ZONE3 for broadcaster Canal Vie where contestants competed to build & win their dream summer house. Bavaria Entertainment took this opportunity to update members on the ongoing production of the musical entertainment show “Hit Records” for RTL2. As for GLOBOMEDIA, they presented doc series «Cinema Cities» or a magazine aimed at showcasing the places around the world that have featured in movies while NEWEN presented a paper format aimed at helping singles find “Dance floor dates” to hopefully find love.
